My Voice, My Vote Upcycling Challenge

We the People Declare that Voting is in Style!

The Challenge

Upcycle an old garment from your closet or from the thrift store. Use your creativity to transform it into a bespoke fashion statement about the importance of voting, or with a message about what motivates you to vote.

Purpose

The midterm elections in November presents a pivotal opportunity to take a stand in favor of a people-powered democracy, and a rejection of authoritarianism, oligarchy and fascism. But getting out the vote will be essential! We want all voters, young and old, and in-between to participate!

Let's make voting the latest trending fashion! 

When your garment is done

Share a photo of your creation with our organizers via email to info@wethepeoplequilt.org or via Instagram at instagram.com/wethepeoplequilt, and then wear it to encourage conversations about voting in your community.  


TBD: there is a chance we may organize a Voting is Vogue party and informal fashion show in October...but that is yet to be determined! If you have ideas about how/where/when to do this please send us a message!

When you are done with your garment, we want to see it! Send us a photo of it that we can share...hopefully with you modeling it! Email your photo to info@wethepeoplequilt.org or send it via Instagram @wethepeoplequilt
